Abstract
It has been shown that the theory of dissipative systems plays an important role in system and control areas, and thus has been attracting a great deal of attention. The dissipative theory gives a framework for the analysis and design of control systems using an input-output description based on energy-related considerations [11]. It serves as a powerful or even indispensable tool in characterizing important system behaviors such as stability and passivity, and has close connections with passivity theorem, the bounded real lemma, the Kalman-Yakubovich lemma, and the circle criterion.
