Abstract
In 1970, Breslow proposed a simple method for gauging melanomas according to the neoplasm’s vertical thickness. With all its limits, this measurement remains by far the best single factor to predict the clinical behavior of a malignant melanoma. We advocate limiting the embellishment of the pathological report of most melanoma to this measurement.
