Abstract
Medicine without medical ethics is akin to a mother without motherhood. Both are intertwined and quite inseparable from times immemorial. Rapid advances in health care and longevity of life have cropped up many a fresh dilemma for the physician. Dealing with children, minors and handicapped is another issue, which is causing much concern to the health authorities. The recent exposé of a television celebrity’s affair in the UK has all but destroyed the faith of an ordinary citizen in the people who matter. Surely there are many untold stories related to the abuse of children and the elderly that remain under the dark corridors of human conscience. The elderly suffer humiliation and indignity by the carers and the mentally retrace at the hands of inhuman caretakers all the time. Quality of life is vital for all, particularly for the sick, the disabled, and the elderly
