Abstract

This chapter will introduce the reader to a few key terms and concepts used in epidemiology, genetics and cognitive neuroscience. We will look at the envirome and the phenome and examine developmental cascades as a model for thinking about multi-factorial traits emerging over time. The principles of personalized preventive medicine will bring the chapter to a close.
