Zusammenfassung

Zelllinien, die als Monolayerkulturen in Petrischalen oder in Flaschen wachsen, benötigen zu ihrem Wachstum und zur Vitalitätserhaltung regelmäßigen Wechsel des Mediums, da bestimmte Bestandteile des Mediums einschließlich aller Zusätze entweder von den Zellen metabolisiert werden oder bei 37 °C im Laufe der Zeit zerfallen. Die Intervalle der Mediumerneuerung und der Subkultivierung variieren von Zelllinie zu Zelllinie, abhängig von Stoffwechselaktivität und Wachstumsgeschwindigkeit.
