Abstract

This paper presents the modelling of H-bridge topology for Z-source inverter (ZSI) feeding a RL Load with Sinusoidal PWM technique using Matlab/Simulink. The proposed model can be incorporated with any of the Z Source networks. The different modes of operation of single phase Voltage source inverter (VSI), and an additional mode when the same H-bridge topology is used as a ZSI have been analyzed. In the developed model the dynamic characteristics of load voltage, load current as well as switch voltage and current can be effectively monitored and analyzed. Therefore, it can be expected that the developed simulation model can be an easy-to-design tool for the development of ZSI based circuits including controller algorithms and topological variations with reduced computation time and memory size. Validations of simulation results of proposed model along with circuit simulation results have been presented.
