Efficient English Teaching Scheme Based on Combination of Grammar Method and Communicative Approach

Abstract

With the development of the globalization, college English teaching plays a more and more important role in training good language learners. Neither only grammar-translation teaching method nor only communicative approach can satisfy the needs of accuracy and fluency of English learning in the modern times. This paper is to prove that with their characteristics, the grammar method is of great use to students’ reading and writing and that the communicative approach does well to students’ listening and speaking. Thus, it is necessary that teachers should adopt both of these two methods and make use of them to teach their students well.
