Abstract

As BeiDou-1 (BD-1) receivers are widely applied in communication, power and defense construction areas nowadays, the technology of assessing receivers based on simulators attracts more attention. However, due to the particular retransmission characteristics in BD-1 and the lagging research on relatively signal simulator, the simulator without ephemeris and errors model simulation function is unable to meet the needs of assessing the receiver’s positioning arithmetic. Therefore, it is an urgence to design a simulator with the functions of debugging and research support using simulation models. Firstly, the principle of BD-1 passive location is elaborated. Then the requirements of the dynamic navigation signal simulation are analyzed. Finally, four mathematical models are established to simulate the error corrections and the signals arriving at the receiver antenna phase center, which are: the target trajectory calculation model, the transmitting (retransmitting) time model, the satellite ephemeris parameter calculation model, and the signal propagation error model. The results show that the BD-1 signal simulator can provide a high-fidelity test environment, and satisfy passive location receiver’s test requirements.
