Abstract
Adaptive allocation is a form of sampling whereby information from an initial phase of sampling is use to allocate the effort for further sampling, usually referred to as the the second phase. The material in this chapter is an extension of the material of the previous chapter with its emphasis on stratified sampling and two-stage sampling. A number of allocation schemes from several authors including those of Francis, Jolly and Hampton, Salehi and Smith, Brown et al., Salehi et al., and Salehi and Brown are described.
