Segmenting Trajectories by Movement States
Dividing movement trajectories according to different movement states of animals has become a challenge in movement ecology, as well as in algorithm development. In this study, we revisit and extend a framework for trajectory segmentation based on spatio-temporal criteria for this purpose. We adapt and extend the framework to the setting of segmentation according to the individual movement states of an object, in particular an animal. We implement the framework and evaluate it at the example of tracks of migrating geese.
