Abstract

In Chapter 3 goal and problem-finding systems are introduced. First the functions of the two kinds of systems are shown. Then it is explained what a goal is and what kind of goals we can distinguish. Based on these types of goals, an example of a goal system is given. Finally it is explained what a problem-finding system is and two categories of such systems are distinguished. As an example, the early warning system of Parlitt and Collins is explained.
