Abstract

In the paper, we survey autocorrelation properties of E_P3 and E_P4 codes derived from the P3 and P4 codes. In particular, analytical expressions for the aperiodic autocorrelation function and the peak sidelobe level of these codes are presented. We show that the considered codes are able to provide much smaller sidelobe level and relatively sharp mainlobe shape in comparison with the other known techniques that use the P3 and P4 codes. Due to their good autocorrelation properties, the E_P3 and E_P4 codes can be applied in radar and sonor systems.
