Dynamics of Semiconductor Lasers with Optical Feedback

Chapter
Part of the Springer Series in Optical Sciences book series (SSOS, volume 111)

Abstract

Following to the pervious chapter, chaotic dynamics of narrow-stripe edge-emitting semiconductor lasers with optical feedback are theoretically and experimentally studied. Various types of chaotic routes of period-doubling, quasi-period-doubling, and intermittent bifurcations are demonstrated. We treat particular topics of the effects in plane mirror optical feedback, grating feedback, phase-conjugate feedback, polarization-rotated optical feedback, and incoherent optical feedback.
