Abstract

Message encryption into chaotic carriers is one of useful applications as optical secure data communications. An encrypted message is simply decoded based on chaos synchronization discussed in the previous chapter. Using chaotic lasers as light sources, high-speed and broadband secure communications can be established. The basics and performance of secure communications in chaotic semiconductor lasers are studied and examples of the real world systems are presented.
