Abstract

Human language is a unique, perfect and beautiful instrument of communication and cognition. It is unique because no other known living being possesses such a rich variety of phonetic, lexical and syntactical means of expressing themselves and in fact do not have a need to do so. It is perfect because it gives us a truly limitless capacity of shaping our thoughts, conveying our emotions, inventing fresh ideas, describing our experience, putting in a concise and consistent form our knowledge of the universe. The beauty of language is revealed in picturesque, vivid and elegant works of poetry and literature.
