Research on Three-Dimensional Sketch Modeling System for Conceptual Design

Part of the Advances in Intelligent and Soft Computing book series (AINSC, volume 144)


In this paper, a three-dimensional sketch modeling system is presented. This system is composed of some modules, such as gesture recognition, sketch profile recognition, three-dimensional modeling, and free-form surface modeling, etc. In this study, pattern recognition is adopted to identify different gestures, and a tolerance ring algorithm is adopted to identify primitives, such as rectangles and circles.
