Abstract
Intuitively, the term surveillance produces rather negative feelings. We start remembering the book of George Orwell “1984”, where a society is described that monitors the complete life of its members. However, doing surveillance is often crucial to survive: Even zebras on the savannah are doing surveillance when they sense and respond to the opportunity of a water hole or the threat of a lion.
