Nicht nur um alte oder beschä digte Zellen zu ersetzen, sondern auch zur Bildung neuer Strukturen (u. a. wä hrend der Embryonalentwicklung) ist es nö tig, Zellen gezielt abzubauen. Hierzu hat die Zelle ein gut kontrolliertes Programm.
