Abstract

Multi-spacecraft observation is a powerful method in turbulence research in space plasma. This chapter introduces analysis methods for Cluster data, which is a four-spacecraft mission observing waves and turbulence in near-Earth space plasma. Using multi-point measurements it is possible to distinguish between spatial structures and temporal variations in the data, and also to analyze the fluctuations in the rest frame of the flow, correcting for the Doppler shift. The principle of analysis techniques and applications such as energy spectra and dispersion relation are presented.
