Abstract
China is the world’s largest toy exporter, mainly exporting to the U.S., EU, Hong Kong and Japan. However, because of the impact of the global financial crisis and a considerable decline in consumption in Europe and America and other developed countries, toys as a typical non-necessity of life have been influenced greatly. As a result, foreign orders continued to decline. In addition, the European Union has adopted new instruction for the toy safety to push up production costs, which affected the China’s toy exports, and resulted in the profits from exporting plush toys having fallen sharply. The situation is very difficult. To solve the problem lies in breaking the bottleneck, developing independent products, improving the core competitiveness of the Chinese toy industry and speeding up industrial upgrading and transformation.
