Zusammenfassung

Karl Jaspers (1913) zerlegte das Ich-Bewusstsein oder die Ich-Identität als Wissen des Individuums um seine eigene Identität in folgende Komponenten: 1. Aktivitätsbewusstsein, Tätigkeitsgefühl; 2. Einfachheit (»ich bin einer im gleichen Augenblick«); 3. Kontinuität des Selbstempfindens; und 4. ich im Gegensatz zum anderen. In anderen Worten: Das Selbsterleben entsteht aus der wahrgenommenen Autorschaft (1), Egozentrizität (2), Kontinuität (3) und Konfrontation (4) mit anderen. Für den Betrachter besteht die personale Identität eines anderen in dessen konstanter Erscheinung und situativ konsistenter und daher vorhersehbarer Reaktionsweise. Davon bin »ich« von vorneherein abgegrenzt und meiner selbst im gesunden Zustand sicher.
