Abstract
In this chapter we discuss the SIR balancing problem
\(C(\gamma) = {\scriptstyle \rm inf\atop{p>0}}\left({\scriptstyle \rm max\atop{1{\leq}k{\leq}K}} {{\gamma_k{\mathcal I}_k(p)}\over{p_k}}\right)\), (6.1)
which was already introduced in Subsection 1.4.5. We assume general concave interference functions \({\mathcal I}1,...,{\mathcal I}_K\). An extension to convex interference functions is straightforward and will not be discussed here. Under an additional assumption on the interference coupling (as defined later), inf can be replaced by min. Two optimization strategies from [7] will be discussed in the following.
