Abstract
The project is based on the development of a programmed growing process found in the example of the reed’s root structure, the rhizome. This paper shows the projects development including the experimental research of basic structural qualities, the development of digital, generative design-tools and the realization of the generated structure on site. Furthermore the question about the designer’s degree of influence on the growing process without loosing its randomness arouses great interest in us. Therefore the project examines a concept which introduces specific spatial presets to intuitively control the generation of the growing algorithm into a usable structure.
