Abstract

This paper describes the design criteria for a temporary art pavilion and the development of an irregular complex structure with emergent load bearing capacities. Emergence is understood as the production of qualities out of quantity. This implies that - at least in the architectural context - the discussion about performance cannot omit the experiential.
