Abstract
Piston rings play important roles in the lubricant characteristic of reciprocating engines with the consequences on engine wear and a vast amount of lubricating oil consumption. Piston ring dynamics is a very complex problem and it is solved numerically using the virtual engine. This paper shows a work describing a simulation algorithm of the piston ring dynamics.
