Vessel Tracking Using Adaboost Algorithm and AIS Information

Abstract

A vessel tracking method is proposed to support port monitoring. The proposed method is co-operated with Automatic Identification System including various data of vessels. To reduce computation of searching, Cartesian coordinates of images are mapped into latitude and longitude based on landmarks. Vessels are searched near received position data of AIS information and detected by Adaboost algorithm. By computer simulations and experiments, it is shown that the proposed method can be applied to port monitoring system.
