Abstract
The aim of this chapter is to turn a Conference from an interesting event where participants listen to studies into an effective tool to change the lives of animals. The section continues the discussion of diplomacy theory through an in-depth review of how international conferences can develop international laws and policies. Attention is given to conference preparation and delegation management, the creation of outcome documents that call for change, and the roles of secretariats and other conference bodies, including drafting committees. Case studies are provided.
