Zusammenfassung
Das Kapitel beschäftigt sich mit der Verwendung von Kathetern zur kontinuierlichen Applikation von Lokalanästhetika im Rahmen der perioperativen Schmerztherapie. Verschiedene Katheterarten werden vorgestellt. Dazu gehören konventionelle Katheter und Stimulationskatheter, die eine Kontrolle der Lage der Katheterspitze mittels elektrischer Nervenstimulation ermöglichen sollen. Die Anlage von Plexuskathetern unter Verwendung des Ultraschalls wird detailliert und Schritt für Schritt erläutert. Da die Dislokation von Plexuskathetern in der klinischen Routine eine relevante Rolle spielt, werden Hinweise zur adäquaten Fixierung der Katheter gegeben. Im Zusammenhang mit der Anlage von Kathetern zur kontinuierlichen Regionalanästhesie sind Infektionen an der Kathetereintrittsstelle ein klinisches Problem. Im Kapitel werden auch die Hygienestandards im Zusammenhang mit diesen Verfahren behandelt. Die postoperative Betreuung von Patienten mit Plexuskathetern im Rahmen der Akutschmerztherapie wird erläutert.
