Zusammenfassung
Opiatabhängigkeit ist ein vielschichtiges Problem, in dem psychologische, soziale und biologische Faktoren eng miteinander verzahnt sind (Altman et al. 1996). Neben dem kulturellen Rahmen haben die individuelle soziale Umgebung und Erfahrung (Kontext) großen Einfluss auf die Entwicklung und Ausprägung der Abhängigkeit. Tierexperimentelle Daten und Untersuchungen am Menschen weisen zwar auf eine genetische Prädisposition zur Opiatabhängigkeit hin (Herz 1995; Kreek et al. 2005), jedoch gibt es bisher beim Menschen keinen zwingenden Beweis für eine speziell zur Opiatabhängigkeit neigende Persönlichkeitsvariante (Self u. Nestler 1995; Warner et al. 1995). Der Weg in die Opiatabhängigkeit der Patienten führt häufig über Selbstbehandlungsversuche von z. B. Depressionen oder Angsterkrankungen; die Komorbiditätsrate für schwere Persönlichkeitsstörungen und posttraumatische Belastungsreaktionen ist erhöht.
