Abstract
Air pollution has many different sources, dimensions and driving factors. In Europe, North America and North East Asia, industrial pollution and the phenomenon of acid rain are common concerns. In the ASEAN region, the discussion of transboundary air pollution necessarily comes against the background of the “haze” pollution experienced in the region in 1994, 1997 and 1998 that resulted from fires in Indonesia.
