Abstract
Investigations over the past two decades have established the feasibility and promise of translating findings from regenerative biology into a regenerative medicine. The majority of this work has been done with experimental animals, but a few human clinical trials have been performed as well. Two basic strategies have been used: cell transplants and the induction of regeneration in vivo (Fig. 3).
