Zusammenfassung

Der Begriff Fibrose unterscheidet nicht streng zwischen einer Kollagenvermehrung und einer Bindegewebsvermehrung. Beide werden getrennt oder gemeinsam als Definition verwendet, wobei der am meisten stringente Gebrauch eine Kollagenvermehrung pro Volumeneinheit des Gewebes beinhaltet (Eder u. Gedigk 1990, Cottier 1980). Man kann die Fibrose auch funktionell als Antwort auf einen Schaden, der dafür bekannt ist, dass er Fibrose auslöst, oder deren Ergebnis definieren.
