Zusammenfassung
Die akute Meningitis ist eine Enzündung der Pia mater und der Arachnoidea. Von der noch immer mit einer relevanten Letalität und Morbidität verbundenen akuten bakteriellen (eitrigen) Meningitis ist die akute apurulente oder seröse Meningitis z. B. viraler Genese zu unterscheiden.
