Abstract
Like with chemical catalyst, a few guidelines should be observed with biocatalyst to preserve activity and to handle them safely. Depending on the formulation — liquid, lyophilized, spray-dried, immobilized — different rules apply. In general, enzymes are perceived as extremely unstable and delicate entities; however, this is not necessarily the case when comparing them with organo-metallic species.
