Abstract

Since its inception in the 1980s, IDSs have evolved from monolithic batch-oriented systems to distributed real-time networks of components [40]. As ID has been an active area of research over thirty years or so, since the initial works in this field [28, 29], a vast array of approaches and techniques have been used to build IDSs.
