Entropy Traces in Lagrangian and Eulerian Calculations

Abstract

We investigate the generation and propagation of errors in shock-capturing codes. We demonstrate that one type of error derives from the nonlinearity of the Hugoniot curve, but that this is not sufficient to explain all errors.
