Based on the general definition of a utility maximization problem from Chaps. 2, 4 and 5 introduce models for the physical layer and the utility layer. By choosing a specific model for both physical layer and utility layer, a realization of a utility maximization problem results, represented by the data vector \((u,h,\mathit{r},\mathcal{X}1)\). Chapter 3 discusses methods to solve a given utility maximization problem. The applicability of each of the discussed methods depends on the properties of the utility maximization problem at hand.
