Zusammenfassung

Kardiovaskuläre Erkrankungen sind die führenden Todesursachen in den westlichen Industrienationen. Unter den kardiovaskulären Erkrankungen ist die koronare Herzerkrankung die häufigste Manifestation. Das Spektrum der koronaren Herzkrankheit reicht von der stillen Ischämie über die stabile Angina pectoris bis hin zum akuten Koronarsyndrom und dem plötzlichen Herztod. Trotz der Einführung der Intensivmedizin und moderner therapeutischer Behandlungskonzepte bleibt die Morbidität und Mortalität des akuten Koronarsyndroms hoch.
