Zusammenfassung

Die Myasthenia gravis ist eine erworbene Autoimmunerkrankung, bei der sich Antikörper an den postsynaptischen Acetylcholinrezeptor binden und diesen langfristig zerstören können. Die dadurch gestörte neuromuskuläre Übertragung führt zu einer vorzeitigen Ermüdbarkeit der Willkürmuskulatur, besonders unter Belastung. Überwiegend sind die okulären, faziopharyngealen und proximalen Muskelgruppen betroffen, jedoch kann die Muskelschwäche auch generalisiert auftreten.
