Abstract

The strategic alignment of IS/IT and business is complex and dynamic in its nature. Independently of other affecting factors, author pretends to explore the importance of behavior aspects within IT practitioners’ activity, so he reviews three important behavior theories and relate them within this context. The introduction of an incentive policy encourages not only the work efficiency of each employee, their satisfaction and performance of their work, but also the psychological and organizational behavior. Author underlines the importance of defining a global incentive’s policy taking into account the achievement of a higher strategic alignment. The organizational incentive policy should take into consideration individual objectives, including all aspects valued by employees in their working relationships as payment, benefits, career and work environment. A strategic alignment model between IT and business is proposed based on the definition of an incentive policy.
