Zusammenfassung

Patellaprobleme bei Knieendoprothesen sind trotz der guten Ergebnisse der Knieendoprothetik und der steigenden Implantationszahlen nach wie vor sehr häufige Komplikationen. Sharkey gab 2002 an, dass etwa 12 % aller Knieprothesenrevisionen aufgrund der Patella durchgeführt werden. Rosenstein beschrieb 2007, dass fast die Hälfte aller Reoperationen durch die Patella verursacht worden sind, auch wenn Mont und Larson sowie Rand beschrieben haben, dass die Patellakomplikationen in den letzten 20 Jahren auf etwa 4 % abgenommen haben. Kelly beschreibt 2002 die Inzidenz mit 2–10 %.
