Suchtmitteleinnahmen und deren Folgen liegen rund 5–17% aller Notarzteinsätze bzw. über 80% aller RTW-Einsätze zugrunde (Arnold et al. 1999; Pajonk et al. 2001c). Ursachen für eine Notfallsituation können sowohl die psychischen Folgen eines aktuellen Konsums, eine Intoxikation, Entzugssymptome oder durch den fortgesetzten Konsum entstandene Folgeschäden sein.
