Abstract
Candidiasis continues to be an extremely common cause of vulvovaginal symptoms and is still most commonly due to Candida albicans.
Major progress has been made in recognizing the role of host genetic factors in pathogenesis of sporadic and recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC).
