Zusammenfassung

Die endoprothetische Versorgung im Bereich der Hüftgelenks- und Kniegelenkschirurgie ist ein weit verbreitetes Standardverfahren. Bei einer Reihe von Erkrankungen lassen sich so Beschwerden wie Schmerzen und Bewegungseinschränkungen effektiv behandeln. Im Erfassungsjahr 2008 wurden in der externen vergleichenden Qualitätssicherung unter anderem 156.887 Hüftgelenk-TEP-Primärimplantationen und 98.870 hüftgelenksnahe Frakturen, die überwiegend operativ, d. h. entweder endoprothetisch oder osteosynthetisch behandelt worden waren, bei der Bundesgeschäftsstelle Qualitätssicherung (BQS) analysiert. In keinem anderen europäischen Land werden somit mehr Hüftendoprothesen implantiert als in Deutschland. Da einerseits die erfolgreiche Methode der Endoprothetik auch bei immer jüngeren betroffenen Patienten angewandt wird und andererseits die Bevölkerung immer weiter altert, steigen auch die Ansprüche an die Funktionszeit einer implantierten Endoprothese. Die Zahl der gemeldeten Wechseloperationen (Revisionen) im Erfassungsjahr 2008 betrug 22.631 Fälle. Da Wechseloperationen mit einer erheblich höheren Morbidität (5,0 vs. 13,8 %) und Letalität (0,2 vs. 1,3 %) einhergehen, sind diese möglichst zu vermeiden (http://www.bqs-online.com).
