Abstract

G-protein-coupled receptors, GPCRs, constitute a vast protein family that encompasses a wide range of functions. Secretin Receptor family and are mostly regulated by peptide hormones from the glucagon hormone family. They are of great importance to the pharmaceutical industry as almost 50% of the existing drugs target them. Expensive and tedious experimental methods motivate us to explore and develop fast and economical computational approach for classification. In the present study amino acid based classification model for class B GPCRs has been developed by employing Support Vector Machine. An accuracy of 99.85 % by 10 fold cross validation has been achieved.
