Zusammenfassung

Analog den technischen Weiterentwicklungen weitet sich das Indikationsspektrum des Ultraschalls in der Viszeralchirurgie kontinuierlich aus. Dies gilt vor allem für die Endosonographie des Gastrointestinaltraktes und den durch Kontrastmittel verstärkten Ultraschall. Die Endosonographie hat bei der Festlegung der stadiengerechten Behandlung viszeraler Tumoren eine herausragende Bedeutung. Beim Ösophagus- und Rektumkarzinom ist sie obligater Teil der Behandlungsplanung.
