Abstract

As mentioned throughout this work, there is a constantly growing demand for radarbased commercial sensors operating in the frequency bands around 24 GHz. The possible mass-market applications are numerous, and include door openers, theft alarms, motion sensors, sanitary equipment, and ground-speed measurement etc. Another very important market sector is automotive radar applications, such as e.g. lane change assistant and blind spot detection etc. However, one of the key factors influencing widespread market acceptance, apart from the technical features of the system, is the price of the module. As a result, there is tremendous pressure on keeping the hardware as inexpensive as possible.
