Abstract

In Foresight processes both experts and decision-makers from policy, industry, research, and civil society are brought together to create channels for communication and to develop a basis for shaping the future. The Foresight methodology was the guideline for the whole project and each individual methodology, like modeling, forecasting, backcasting, or literature review, was considered as part of the whole Foresight process. This chapter introduces the objective of Foresight processes and explains the techniques used within FREIGHTVISION.
