Zusammenfassung

Das Becken entspricht einem Knochenring, bestehend aus Os sacrum und den beiden Beckenhälften (Hemipelvis). Jede Beckenhälfte setzt sich aus den 3 ursprünglichen Ossifikationszentren zusammen: Os ilium, Os ischium und Os pubis. Ventral an der Symphyse sind die beiden Beckenhälften über einen fibrokartilaginären Diskus miteinander verbunden. Diese Verbindung ist nicht rigide und dient lediglich als Stütze.
