Zusammenfassung
Nach Auswertung der vorliegenden prospektiv randomisierten Studien hat sich gezeigt, dass die elektronische fetale Herzfrequenzregistrierung (CTG) als das am häufigsten antepartal eingesetztes Überwachungsverfahren die in die Methode gesetzten Erwartungen nicht erfüllt hat. Selbst bei konsequentem Einsatz in Hochrisikokollektiven konnten weder die perinatale Morbidität noch die Mortalität signifikant gesenkt werden. Umso mehr ist es auch volkswirtschaftlich kaum sinnvoll, dass diese Methode unreflektiert nahezu bei jeder Gravidität, d. h. auch bei Schwangeren ohne Risiko, angewandt wird. Gründe für die enttäuschende Bilanz sind neben den zahlreichen bei der Interpretation meist nicht berücksichtigten Einfluss- und Störgrößen auch die uneinheitlichen Interpretationskriterien.
